Dr. Vinks is an internationally-recognized pediatric clinical pharmacologist. Likewise, he is extremely experienced in pharmacometrics and has published numerous papers on population-based PK/PD models in children. His is also a world leader in the integration of therapeutic drug monitoring to hospital-based decision support. He will be a critical component of the global appreciation of the PKB and is committed to bringing the PKB system to Cincinnati Children's Hospital where he heads the Laboratory of Applied Pharmacokinetics & TDM.

Roger W. Jelliffe, M.D.

Dr. Jelliffe has been a pioneer in the area of therapeutic drug monitoring and the development of models to individualize and manage drug therapy. His efforts to define optimal gentamicin therapy and renal function relationships via surrogate markers (e.g. creatinine clearance) represent milestones in patient management directly and indirectly affecting millions of patients. Since 1966 his lab has researched optional individualization of drug dosage regimens. Since 1973 the Laboratory of Applied Pharmacokinetics has continued to investigate the optimal study and control of pharmacokinetic systems and individualized drug therapy supported in part by the National Library of Medicine (NLM) and National Center for Research Resources (NCRR) under Dr. Jelliffe's direction.

Professor Ohtani is an expert in the integration of drug information to advise patient management. He has also developed and applied an internet-based educational system (iPhiss) to share pharmaceutical case reports between pharmacists nationwide in Japan. Dr. Ohtani is also interested in the development of prediction algorithms to derive therapeutic dosing recommendations from preclinical and in vitro data, a key feature when adult data is limited, unavailable or not relevant to pediatric indications.

Dr. Johnson is an internationally-recognized thought leader in pediatric clinical pharmacology. He has been a pioneer in the integration of CYP ontogeny information into models for predicting drug disposition in children. He also has had a pivotal role in the Paediatric module of the Simcyp ADME Population-based Simulator which seeks to facilitate the development of drugs suitable for use in children.
